The Holidays are always so much fun...(And I'm mad at Ted right now....he just jumped on the computer and messed up the blog! Ahhhhh) Ok as I was saying, we're finally taking a minute to catch up. For Thanksgiving Kelly and I took a week and drove my dad's Harley Davidson to California. It was a blast to say the least.
We took our time and just enjoyed ourselves. That doesn't usually happen on our vacations. We usually end up driving all night to and from to make the most of our few short days. This vacation was much needed. Not to mention California rocks on a motorcycle. We saved ourselves hours of being stuck in traffice by being able to zip between the lanes when traffic was at a stand still. Although I can't lie to you, the first few times we tried it I was reeeeaaaaallly nervous.
On Sunday we stopped at Peggy Sue's 50s style diner and I think I consumed more food there than I did on Thanksgiving. Riding the bike you don't snack the whole time like I normally would in the car. So I ordered a burger and fries with a bowl of soup for starters and didn't even let the waitress finish her sentence about fried pickles before I said I'd take some of those and a pineapple shake. Seriously, I was starved. :)
California was a blast! We visited the beach with Allen and Bekah, went to the Conan Show (and in the process discovered that I'd lost my wallet somewhere in my travels....fortunately it was discovered 3 days later)
Christmas Tree hunting is always one of my favorite activities. I love a good Charlie Brown tree like you can only find blazing your own trails. As I said last year, Kelby is the most important thing to bring with you on your hunt. He's such a hard little worker and is more than happy to do the manual labor. The tree with legs happens to be Kelby. Ted was a super wuss in the snow. We had his coat on him and everything but he kept trying to hold one of his legs off the ground as if that would keep all 4 from getting cold and he kept trying to stake out a snow free spot and stay there with his tail between his legs. So naturally he ended up getting carried most of the time
And while we're speaking of Wyoming and Kelby, I have to tell Kelby's quote of the weekend. He makes me laught so hard because he doesn't even realize just how funny he is. We were at lunch and my dad was telling him about some blood hounds that were for sale. He immediately began begging for them. My dad said, "They are $50 or free to a good home" Kelby instantly shouts, "I HAVE FIFTY DOLLARS!!" haha....I couldn't stop laughing.
And finally, I present to you my Christmas craftiness. I got very ambitious and hand dipped the candles and have actually made 6 wreathes so far....going on 7. I'm loving every minute of it. I can't wait to get Scott and Peggy's tree decorated. (It's a slow work in progress) It's going to be my favorite so far.
I hope everyone is having a most wonderful holiday season!

I think your decoration are beautiful and I bet your house smells so good since you have a 'real' tree. :)
