PIONEER DAY

For the 24th Kelly & I hosted a celebration at our place. Complete with slip-n-slide, Fire Works, and an outdoor movie. I told Brendan that Kelly and I organized the fireworks that were shooting from the golf course...now he knows who throws the coolest parties. :)

I also challenged Kelly to a duel of the Slip-n-slide...if you ask me, I totally won. I'll let you be the judge:

Here we go with Round 1....let's call it a warm-up

Now for Round 2: Where things get a little more interesting...

This here is your classic foot slide that was very well executed. Difficulty Rating: 10; Also has a very similar appearance to our lovely Statue of Liberty.

This is where I took the commanding lead with this unique beauty of a slide. This was actually and attempt at the "Sexy Lady" pose but when the camera snaps and the precise moment you can clearly see the subliminal message I was leaving...That there is Michael Phelps. Who wouldn't take the competition hands down after striking a pose of the 14 time Olympic Gold Medalist. The judges hands are tied.

Here are some more pictures of the fun before we settled down for Fireworks and The movie on the projector. Brendan, Emma, and I didn't last more than 10 minutes tbefore it turned into backyard camping though. I think all the slash action earlier had us all tuckered out.

Thanks to everyone for coming! We had such a fun time and hope to do it again soon. We love you all!

A girl can dream right?

This is the front view of my dream home. In a perfect world I will have one very similar some day.

If all else fails....

I don't know how it works, but it does. I just spent 20 minutes searching the house trying to find my camera and cord to put pictures onto the computer from Bear Lake yesterday. It's mind boggling to think that it could get lost in this teeny house. So when we were about to give up I said, "One of us just has to get really mad and throw a raging fit and it will turn up" so I pretended I was mad and threw the laundry basked upside down and gave it a kick....there is was...hiding in the laundry basket. Amazing.

Anywho, we took Ted to Bear lake with Clinton & Cari yesterday. Ted has turned into a really good swimmer...although he is a little scared of waves still. Then we ventured of to Randolf to eat at Gator's and took the back roads home up over the mountain and into Hardware. We also managed to take a detour and get a little lost, but we figured we'd get there eventually and kept on driving. We saw a couple of Moose and some deer so the drive was worth it.

Can I recall that last sentence????

Look at me go! Another post already....Anyway, you know how you say something and as the words escape your mouth you desperately try to think of a way to grab them mid air and swallow them....

One lovely saturday morning I was on the couch, totally absorbed in my book, (The Host...it's a really good read) while Kelly went out to mow the lawn. After several chapters I realized that he should have been done so I went outside to find him working in the garden pouring with sweat. He told me how he'd mowed the lawn, trimmed the egdes, water plants, etc...(The list was quite long) I asked him to come inside the house and cool off. He collapsed in front of the swamp cooler totally exhausted while I laid down and put my head in his lap. Then....as I have a tendency to say exactly what's on my mind, I causually say, "My back hurts from sitting on the couch." We both started laughing so hard we were tearing up.

I actually still know my login!

Time for some serious blogging. I finally put pictures on my computer so now I'm just going to put a TON of pictures on and do the last 3 months in a nutshell. it's the only way any of us will survive this.

This one comes first because it is my favorite...We took ted swimming for the first time at Palisades. I love how all you have to do is hold him over water and he starts paddling.

Here we are setting foot on our property for the first time. I was a pretty cool feeling to stand there and know that 5 whole acres with fabulous view was ours. I'm so happy that Kelly and I have the same hopes and dreams for our future. We love to day dream about our life and plot it all out...this piece of dirt makes those dreams that much greater.

On july 3rd we went to the Hogle Zoo with Allen & Bekah to monkey around for a bit. It appears that Kelly is more human than orangatang, of course...and that I didn't really find any gold nuggets up that gorilla's nose...

Speaking of zoos... Muir farms wouldn't be complete without some livestock for our dog to chase around would it? Kelly and I aquired 3 baby ducklings this spring. They were cute as buttons when we first got them, now they are huge and Ted likes to sneak in their pen and "stir them up a bit" The cute little guy up front is named Myron. When we were picking them out he was a one of a kind and we actually though that he had some serious deformities because he looked like he didn't have any wings. We just had to have him. (Only Kelly and I would insist on the defective livestock) Turns out he's just a different breed of duck, but he's definitely our favorite.

I have the handsomest husband in the entire world who never ceases to make me smile. The best years of my life are going to be because kelly makes them the best. I couldn't dream up a better person for me. And little Ted just makes our lives even happier. I love my perfect little family and wouldn't change a thing about it for the world.

And now we have the supercoss in Las Vegas!
We've started a little tradition of making the trip every spring. Always a good chance to get away from work after a long winter and visit Steph & Scott. I love going to Vegas...Steph! You can never ever move...unless I say so. :)

This blog session has gotten pretty long...I think I need a break for now. The good news is that I deleted my facebook so I wouldn't be so distracted by it all the time...leaving more time for blogging. :)
