Biased (maybe) but True

Where shall I start? How about with, "My husband is the most wonderful man in the world!" I honestly can't picture a better person for me. I miss him when he's gone for more than a minute, and wish I could spend every second of my life with him. As you all know, we've been married 6th months and he never fails to make me love him more and more. I am the happiest and luckiest girl in the world to be married to him. More importantly, I am incredibly proud of him for everything he does and everything he is. My best friend, my role model, my prince charming, my everything. I love you!

O' Christmas Tree! O' Christmas Tree"

Last night was the long awaited Christmas Party at our place. The first of many I hope. (I can hear the family groaning already he-he) It was a good time. We all crammed into our little kitchen area and decorated gingerbread trees while Emma ate enough frosting to make us all sick. Kelly made "Cup of Dirts" for dessert, and I don't think Emma was too fond of it. Perhaps the funniest thing I've ever seen. She took a bite and once she decided it was not her cup of tea she spit it out and then, in a rush to get it out of her mouth, started licking the table. I'm sad that I couldn't get to the camera fast enough.

Tis the season...

If you haven't ever spent a holiday with the Griswalds, let me just say, my house is about as close as it gets, especially when I'm in the kitchen! My cullinary masterpieces aren't anything beyond burnt water or smoking grilled cheese sandwiches. Which makes me wonder why I would ever attempt the task of gingerbread trees. Mix the dry ingredients then ad the rest. Couldn't be easier! FALSE! It is not that easy. For starters, let me tell you a little something about my mixer, it has 2 speeds, "Off" and "drive it like you stole it." Somewhere along the lines it has lost gears 1-6. That being said...I had to beat the eggs so I plugged it in and then began putting the beaters in. Lesson 1: Never trust a beater with a power supply. I accidentally pushed the on button with my hand while I was still holding onto the beaters. That thing grabbed ahold of my fingers like there was no tomorrow. Lesson 2: Screaming doesn't help. And thats exactly what I did. I screamed, and held on. It seemed like ages before I could gather my thoughts enough to think, "You're still holding onto this thing you big idiot!" But once I did, I threw it to the floor like it was a sandwich with half of a worm in it, and then rushed to get it unplugged as it bounced around at my feet, still going 90 mph. Kelly turned around and looked at me like "What on Earth is going on in there?" As if any explanation was needed!
And to answer your questions...Yes, I am still complaining about it a little bit. No, my hands are not horribly mangled. And for realsies...The dang thing STILL works! Rattles a little bit...but full speed is still functioning as it was before.

THE REVIEW

That's right! Today is mine and Kelly's 6 month anniversary. So naturally its a good time for his 6 month review. Let's keep this professional now.

Kelly has gone above and beyond the expectations of the role as "Husband." He always makes sure that I am happy and taken care of, even if it means putting up with me when I desperately need a nap. I can't say enough good things about this husband of mine. He makes me fall more and more in love with him every day. For the category "Good Looks and Charm" which every husband needs...11. Not only is he the most handsome man I've ever known, but he also has this uncanny ability to make me laugh all the time. He is my best medicine. He recieves a 10 or Exceeds Expectations in the area of "Sweet little romantic things" I love the little notes he leaves for me to remind me how much he loves me, or the little things he does to protect me or make sure that I will be ok. I couldn't ask for more out of such a wonderful companion. He is a great support to me and our marriage. Its been a fairy tale life with you Kelly. I love you more than I can even begin to describe. I can't wait to spend forever with you.

Company Parties...

Last night was the JM Mechanical Christmas Party at the Coppermill. The Prime Rib was fantastic! Believe it or not, I actally got it rare when I asked for it! You have no idea how "rare" that is! Yes, I do get a little excited about my red meats. I also won this killer horseshoe set! Now for the worst or best part...depending on your perspective...I fell down the stairs! Ok, its not the "bust-your-hip-everyone-sees-up-your-dress-you-have-a-major-lawsuit" kind of fall you just imagined. I "lost my footing" and managed to skid down three steps before I finally caught my balance for a half a second, which happens to be long enough for everyone to look to see what the racket is, and then skid 3 more steps before Kelly could finally get me under control. All I could say was "That is REALLY embarrassing!" Keith, who whitnessed from the bottom of the stairs offered to applaud...and Kelly told me to keep it to one drink. Yes, that is embarrassing to do in from of your co-workers. Glad Kelly doesn't have a Christmas party for me to further humiliate myself!

Weekend Update

This month has been flying by! And miraculously...that 8-5 Rat race still manages to drag. Saturday the weather totally blew! (Pun intended) So it cancelled our trip to Idaho Falls to visit my mom. Instead (as in after I finished pouting about it) we went to breakfast at Angie's, that never gets old, and then it was off to Home Depot to get crafty for the day. We painted my TV stand to match the rest of our decor and made a cool new coat rack...yes, I'm totally jazzed about it. The best part is...I have Kelly to make sure things are done right. By nature I am a hurry and "get 'er done" (Not to be confused with "Git 'er dun") Kind of person...Kelly is a "get it right" kind of person. He's definately the reason it looks good! I also FINALLY got started on the rest of Steph's Christmas present. If it weren't for the last minute I'd never get anything done! (Sorry Steph, that's all the hint you get!)
Sunday we went to the Mo Tab Christmas Concert. That was fun, even getting up at an inhumane hour was worth it. Christmas muisic is always good in my book, so is Scott's roast for Sunday dinner! It was actually my first time in the new conference center...Holy WOW! That thing is impressive!

*REWIND*

OK! Lets TiVo these last few weeks! Where do I start? After Thanksgiving...it is all but impossible to go back to work after an awesome 4 day weekend. And it has seemed like its been Go Dogs Go! Since then. Finally this morning I woke up and it was that day you realize that you need a serious mental health day to get back on your feet. So here is a rewind of whats happened the last few weeks.

Christmas Tree Hunting

On Dec. 6 we ventured to Wyldoming to get a few Christmas trees. I was looking forward to this one for about a month. The best advice I have for anyone who goes Tree hunting is this: Bring Kelby. He is the handiest thing to have around. He was all for doing the manual labor, I think I'll bring him along next year! My next piece of advice: Save yourself the extra trip...leave your cell phone in the car. We got got home only to discover that Kelly's phone was missing. So we went back up and LUCKILY we found it the first place we checked. Suprisingly, he had service there.
We got a cute baby tree for Kelly and another Charlie Brown type of creature for me. Let me tell you...They look a lot smaller in the forest. We got home and I swear I had to cut a good 5 feet off that thing. But it looks good in my living room loaded with presents. And with the remains...I have pine boughs everywere. Yup, its a forest, and I had a HUGE mess of it for a while there. But I love Christmas Decor. I wonder if Kelly will let me keep it there all year?

We also snagged a tree for Scott and Peg, it is a beautiful tree...now I just have to finish getting it decorated. I started on Tuesday...but had to hit the hay before all of the ornaments were hung. I have until Christmas, right?

Adding to the Family...

Last night Kyle got engaged! And not just engaged...but engaged to a perfect girl who is going to be awesome to have around as a sister-in-law. You can never have too many people to love and I'm very excited to add another person to my family!
We went out to 2nd dam right after work and got the lights and roses going. I think it turned out great! EXCEPT KYLE LOCKED HIS CAR! Megan...he doesn't follow directions very well. HAHA. Welcome to the family! Married life is going to be better than you two could ever even imagine!

LIVE

And that brings us to the present. Tonight I am refusing to do anything or go anywhere. I have a date with Kelly, the couch, a cup of hot cocoa, and "The Office".

Vegas Vacation...

Thanksgiving in Vegas was a ball. So great we managed not to take a single picture...I guess you'll have to take my word for it. Steph is a culinary expert in my book! And Black Friday...As much as I hated getting up at 3AM it was a blast. I missed out on Kelly's TV projector, but he got a really cute sweater dress (in my size) in its place! Kelly and I also went to breakfast at the cracked egg where the food was fantastic. Breakfast is and always will be my favorite "date."
And the weather! Oh my! I almost didn't come home! Gorgeous!

CHECKING OUT...Almost

What do you do when its 4:18 the day before Thanksgiving, you have only 42 minutes left to milk the clock, and time is at a high speed stall? I can't wait to get on the road to Vegas and I'm exhausted. As jealous as I am of him, I'm glad Kelly's getting a good nap right now because I'm going to be the most worthless shotgun rider this side of the Mississippi on our way down. HA, and as jealous as he'll be of me, sleeping like a baby on the drive, he'll probably be glad he won't have to listen to my Christmas music. :) Happy Thanksgiving!

The Holy War

Saturday Kelly and I scored tickets to go freeze ourselves for some wholesome fun at the UTAH vs BYU football game. I love football when I have a triple fudge brownie and my team is winning. What more can a girl ask for?

Court

Well, MY trip to court was nowhere near as exciting as Scott and Steph's. About a month ago I got pulled over for an "illegal right turn," I know, I thought the same thing..."That's ridiculous!" Anyone who knows me also knows that my driving record can not afford it. And I try so hard to be a good driver. I guess I'm always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anywho, we decided to fight the ticket; had my case all planned out. Let's just say that I was allowed to pay my $72.00 contribution, which I opted to pay immediately. I am so glad it is Friday!

Addiction or Obsession?

When Kelly Married me, I don't think he knew he was marrying a Christmas freak. I LOVE Christmas time...So much that I'm blogging about it about a month early. I have a confession...I bought wrapping paper yesterday. I thought that maybe it would help me get a grip on myself...in reality, it only made it worse. I can officially say that Christmas is the single thing that I will likely never procrastinate. I already have my favorite holiday tunes playing in the car and Kelly gets to listen to Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmastime AT LEAST once a day. I even bought him a Christmas Present today! It's tricky for me. I'm either at work or with Kelly, so how do you keep it a secret? I used my lunch time to run to the store and then rush home to wrap it and hide it in the closet. Of course its not so hidden as soon as he reads this. OK, OK, I promise I'll say nothing more of Christmas until we've killed the Turkey first!

Movie Night

Last night we went and saw Madagascar 2 with Clinton (Kelly's cohort from work) and his wife. Turns out it is quite funny...would I see it again? Definitely. My favorite line..."If I had only 2 days left to live, I would become a professional whistler. I'm already pretty amazing at it, but I would become a professional." AND "I'd jump in right now if I weren't such a good whistler." Take the kids and go see it.

American Dreams

The latest and greatest news in our world: We are now offically land owners! We had a perfect opportunity to invest in 5 acres on Haviture Way in Etna, WY and went for it! You know what they say..."You make your own luck." There is something to be said about owning your first piece of real estate. Who would have thought paying for dirt and grass would be so exciting? But it is!

FOR STARTERS...

Let me tell you a little about Kelly and Myself.
If you didn't already know, we are absolutely perfect for each other. If I didn't believe in a "soul mate" before, I certainly do now. Life is bliss when we are together. Even the most boring activity like lying in bed watching the history channel for endless hours is somehow entertaining when we are together. We share the same big dreams and goals as well as the same off beat sense of humor. One of my most favorite things about Kelly...he's definately just as weired as I am AND the fact I can see, in everything he does, how much he loves me. The next hundred years are going to be filled with more adventure than we can even imagine. Weather its trying to find Tulum or just make it out of Wal-Mart alive, there will always be a memory made and a story to tell.
